The Role

The practice director’s role is to ensure the smooth running of the practice on a day-to-day basis, working with the directors, marketing and finance teams to achieve this.

The ideal candidate will be a highly organised and proactive individual with a positive ‘can-do’ attitude, and the ability to take initiative and work autonomously. They will be people-focused and attend our UK studios regularly.

Previous experience of working at a design-led architecture practice or a creative company is desired, as well as a passion to help us continually improve the practice.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Coordinating practice-wide administration and systems.
  • Regularly visiting studios to make sure they are well managed and reflect the practice’s image and culture.
  • Promoting the practice/studio culture, equality and diversity.
  • Organising social events.
  • Supporting the directors in achieving our business plan and wider goals.
  • Assisting with due diligence in relation to practice-wide matters.
  • Managing the practice GDPR policies and compliance.
  • Working with our H&S director to assist with audits and risk assessments of our workplaces.
  • Working closely with the Board on incentives to improve the practice and workplaces, and invest in our talented employees.
  • Assisting studio directors in making sure client appointments are set up and contracts are completed.
  • Meeting regularly with studio directors to assist with the day-to-day running of their studios premises, including HR queries.
  • Implementing and maintaining our ADP staff practice handbook and induction process.
  • Reviewing our HR policies (with external specialist if required).
  • Dealing with day-to-day HR matters, and report monthly to the Board.
  • Assisting with recruitment.
