The house of tomorrow:

The COVID-19 pandemic has created many challenges – and not only the obvious issues of health and wellbeing. Phrases like social distancing, self-isolation and lockdown have become part of the pandemic lexicon, and they reflect new spatial, physical and psychological relationships
that we need to consider and design for.

Our Residential Director Adrian Bower, led a team of architects who considered the potential impacts of coronavirus on residential design. We explored how we could use our own core principles of sustainability, belonging and engagement to develop designs for better homes.

Adrian Bower

Adrian leads our residential sector, bringing 20 years of experience within this field. He has developed significant expertise in the masterplanning, planning and building of new communities and relishes the challenges of mixed use, urban regeneration projects.

Prior to ADP, Adrian had long-term involvement in a number of major regeneration projects including Kidbrooke Village and Goodman’s Fields with Berkeley Homes, East Village and Fitzroy Place.

He has worked with private clients, local authorities and registered social landlords across a range of scales, to plan and deliver all types and tenures of housing, including market, affordable, build to rent, student housing and hotels.

Adrian has detailed knowledge of residential planning requirements and leads negotiations with client bodies, planning authorities and community interests, achieving commendable results in sensitive environments.
