OVERVIEW

Coulsdon College

ADP was commissioned by Coulsdon College to undertake the extensive redevelopment of the existing campus. To achieve the client’s aspirations for a light, flexible, and sustainable building, ADP’s design for the new facility incorporates a dramatic large central atrium, allowing natural light and ventilation to flow around the building. The atrium houses areas for display, open access to learning resource areas, and break out, eating and social spaces. Two new wings of flexible teaching space are linked across the atrium, and each curriculum area has its own centralised hub with a central staff base, resource area and support facilities.

With a biomass boiler, sedum and biodiversity roofs, passive ventilation and natural daylight, the project is BREEAM rated ‘Very Good’.
