OVERVIEW

Compact Apartments

ADP was appointed to reconfigure a 1960s office building in the centre of Oxford. The building sits within the city Conservation Area and has protected views.

The use for the building was identified through exploration of numerous options at feasibility stage and as a result, the project has provided 15 compact flats. The flats have been designed for ‘compact’ city living, with the construction of two new 3-bed penthouse flats in addition.

We worked with our interior design team to achieve a feeling of space and light within the flats, incorporating contemporary, high quality finishes throughout.

The design integrates ‘winter gardens’, which will provide natural light and ventilation further into a deep floor plate. This design feature allows the compact flats to be flexible in sharing space between living and sleeping area.

The scheme incorporates passive design measures, with windows angled to reduce solar gain in summer and increase in winter.

The new flats are a contemporary addition to the Oxford skyline.
