OVERVIEW

Britwell Centre

ADP and Mansell were appointed by Slough Borough Council to design and build a sustainable community hub.  This project symbolises Slough Borough Council’s commitment to investing in Britwell - it forms a significant part of the Britwell and Haymill Regeneration Project.

The brief for this project was developed through close consultation and collaboration with the project stakeholders and end users. The design brings all the Council’s key support services for the area under one roof.

The building provides;‘My council’ call point with consultation rooms, library, IT Room for training and individual learning, meeting facilities, welfare facilities and a crèche, hall space with flexible partitions, training Kitchens, wet and dry learning rooms, and cafè.

These spaces are linked together by a welcome area that also acts as the main entrance to the hub.

Located adjacent to Britwell’s main social hub, this building is expected to have a positive impact on many members of the community.

Externally, landscaped courtyards are protected from the main street. They are designed to support a variety of activities and events within a safe and secure environment.

The project is on course to achieve a BREEAM ‘Very Good’ rating.
