Highgate School

A series of projects have been undertaken for this leading independent school in North London, the first of which, School House, creates a Centre of Excellence for Art, Design and Technology.

A common theme is the integration of modern architecture to provide dynamic, contemporary new facilities, whilst respecting the historic structures which create a traditional setting for the school.

Originally built in 1881, School House has been sensitively restored to enhance its contribution to the Conservation Area. Extensions to the building to provide additional teaching space are at basement level, allowing seamless integration with its surroundings and at the same time, embracing contemporary, intelligent design which creates flexibility the future.
