Karen joined ADP in 1996 and is the practice's Sustainability Leader.
She leads the in-house sustainability team, providing BREEAM and bespoke sustainability services.

Karen Turnbull

Karen joined ADP in 1996 working as an architect and then senior architect until 2007 when she became responsible for championing sustainable design within the practice. As Sustainability Leader she is responsible for implementing ADP's Environmental Management System (EMS), certified to ISO14001.
 

Karen is a BREEAM Assessor and BREEAM Accredited Professional, and has also undertaken Passivhaus consultancy training. 

A large part of her role is supporting architectural staff to develop and implement sustainability strategies on the majority of ADP projects to raise the bar in environmental performance, including; low energy strategies, ecological improvement and enhancing health and wellbeing.

Karen is also involved in developing the use of software tools to optimise passive design performance, including TAS Architecture thermal modelling software, and bespoke tools for day lighting and natural ventilation.
