Two more awards for Delhi studio

Eishan Jain and Siddhant Jain from ADP’s Delhi studio have won awards for "Professional Excellence in Architectural Services" from Ce Worldwide, in the NCR Leadership Award Summit 2017.

The awards celebrate the achievements of professionals who work in the areas of facilities management, project management, procurement and corporate real estate services. The award ceremony hosted by Ce Worldwide, recognises the contribution that individuals make to their industry and encourages best practice.

Topics being debated at the conference were:

•How successful new workplace strategies rely on facilities management

•How strategic procurement is leading towards a greater transparency across the supply chain

Eishan was one of several panellists discussing “Is the fierce competition in the interior fit-out industry spoiling the scope of work?” and “Design vs design-build, its advantages, disadvantages and the opinions of people involved: the client, the architect, the contractor and the vendor.”

During the panel discussion, Eishan made the point that in India traditional architectural contracts are more beneficial than the current trend of ‘design and build’ because this enables architects to focus on their area of expertise and provide an unbiased service to the clients. He went on to say that:“It is essential that the architect is in charge of the project in order for him to lead the team and realise the design in close coordination with direct stakeholders such as the client, project manager, contractor and all external and internal consultants.”

Siddhant Jain also emphasised the importance of managing variations: “Client changes made during construction phase are the reason why most projects go over the initial budget!”
