St John's School Shortlisted for RIBA Award

Located in Leatherhead, Surrey, the school’s site has a rich and varied history, with a number of Grade II listed Victorian Gothic buildings at its core. Early engagement with the school and local planning authority led to a masterplan that coherently brings together old and new, through the sustainable re-use of existing historic buildings and the addition of complementary, contemporary architecture. Taken together these projects form a unified phase of expansion that has reinforced the School’s original layout.

This submission for a RIBA Award recognises the importance of strategic master planning, with a coherent and consistent approach.

Winners will be announced at an awards dinner on Thursday 25th May 2017.
