Planning Received for ADP’s Latest Project at the University of Liverpool

ADP has successfully secured planning permission for the refurbishment of Cedar House at the University of Liverpool. We were appointed to undertake architecture and interior design services in early 2018. The scheme is part of a wider ‘Project Live’, which is a multimillion-pound investment in the School of Medicine. This project will see the comprehensive refurbishment of the original Victorian building to deliver IT enabled teaching environments, including simulation suites for medical professionals.

Our concept recognised the need for a striking new student hub to respond to student feedback; providing a new collaborative home for students whilst unlocking the ground floor, with access to student services, quiet study and a south facing landscaped garden.

The extension is to be naturally ventilated, with north facing rooflights and south facing glazing set into deep reveals to provide excellent quality of light.

The project will be delivered over a number of phases whilst the building remains occupied, with works due to be completed for the new academic year in autumn 2019.
