Official Spanish City Opening

Saturday 21st July marked the official opening of the Spanish City building.

With over 7000 visitors in attendance, Spanish City got the welcome back it deserved. The highly anticipated regeneration was designed by ADP and has been 10 years in the making, after the building’s closure in 2000.

Elected Mayor, Norma Redfearn, had the honour of re-opening Spanish City and unveiled a commemorative plaque to Facebook live viewers. Visitors were treated to the sounds of the Linskill Choir and a speech from the Mayor, along with fairground rides and managed access of the dome.

ADP worked closely with North Tyneside Council, construction company, Robertson, and the new operator, Kymel, to sensitively restore Spanish City and secure the iconic building’s future.
