ADP give direction to new film studios in Dagenham

Dagenham steals limelight with new film studios

Dagenham is set to become the new ‘tinsel town’ of the UK with plans being unveiled by the London mayor and local council, to build film studios in the borough.

Set in 20 acres of industrial land, ADP conducted the initial capacity study for the site, which is now being used as the spot for new world-class facilities.

Located close to Dagenham East station, the new film studios will contribute to London’s already flourishing film industry. With studio space in the capital experiencing a chronic shortage, the east end borough has been chosen as the new site for making movie magic.

Once famous for producing family cars, the aim of the studios is to rejuvenate the area, boost the local economy and create jobs.

It is hoped that the construction work for the studios will start over the next 12 months. Once built, it will be the first new TV or film studios built in London for more than 25 years.
