Goscote Palliative Care Centre
16 October 2009One of ADP's current healthcare projects, Goscote Palliative Care Centre at Goscote Hospital in the West Midlands, has become the first building in the UK to achieve a design stage 'Excellent' rating under BREEAM Healthcare.
The Centre forms one element of the Goscote Hospital Masterplan development sited to the northwest of Walsall. The ADP designed centre consists of around 2500m2 of accommodation over two storeys, broken down into inpatient facilities, day hospice and outpatient rehabilitation, and staff accommodation. ADP also provided the BREEAM assessor services for the project.
ADP's simple, robust design incorporated a wide range of sustainable measures. A BREEAM 'Excellent' rating was achieved at the design and procurement stage through the joint effort of the whole design team including ADP, the developer Ashley House and the client NHS Walsall.
