Augustine House Gets Thumbs Up From Students
13 October 2009Following the highly successful opening of Augustine House, Canterbury Christ Church University invited the cameras of Kent TV to get up close and personal with an exclusive look around the brand new home for library and student support services.
The Kent TV crew interviewed Dr. Keith Gwilym, Pro Vice Chancellor of Learning and Quality, about the new facilities in the face of changing student lifestyles and learning methods. ADP’s design for Augustine House is the product of rigorous research and analysis into these topics, where architects and client set out to create a new standard in the design and provision of library and support services.
The video clip showcases the new services and communal spaces, looking at the library in action – and, we’re delighted to see, capturing the enthusiastic responses of the University’s students as they make themselves at home in Augustine House. One student described the building as ‘absolutely fantastic’, whilst another added that it’s light and airy feel was more ‘…conducive to good studying, and good reading’.
